To begin, head to Trezor.io/start. This page has everything you need to set up your device and securely manage your assets.
Trezor Suite is the official app that makes managing your crypto simple and safe. It’s available as both a desktop application for Windows, macOS, and Linux, and as a web app if you prefer.
Get Started: Download Trezor Suite by following the link on the Trezor.io/start page, and install it.
Open Trezor Suite: Once installed, open Trezor Suite and follow the setup instructions.
Now, it’s time to plug in your Trezor device. Here’s how:
Use the USB cable that came with your Trezor and connect it to your computer.
Follow the on-screen instructions on Trezor Suite to start setting up your device.
To keep your Trezor secure and functioning at its best, it might need a firmware update. Trezor Suite will prompt you if you need to install the latest version.
Follow the steps on the screen to download and install the firmware. It’s quick and essential for security!
Once complete, you’re ready to create your wallet.
After the firmware installation, Trezor Suite will guide you in setting up a new wallet. This is when you’ll receive your recovery seed, a 12-, 18-, or 24-word phrase that’s unique to your wallet.
Write Down Your Recovery Seed: Carefully write down this phrase on paper and store it securely! It’s your one and only backup if you lose access to your Trezor.
Don’t Share It! Never share your recovery seed online or with anyone. It’s the key to your wallet, so keep it safe.
Setting a PIN is a quick step to add an extra layer of security to your Trezor. This PIN will be required each time you access your device.
Choose a Strong PIN: Create a unique PIN that’s easy for you to remember but hard for anyone else to guess.
Optionally, you can add a passphrase for even more security if you want that extra layer of protection.
Now for the fun part! You can start adding accounts for the cryptocurrencies you wish to store on your Trezor.
Wide Range of Coins: Trezor supports major coins like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin, along with many others.
Go to the Accounts Tab: Add any supported coins you own, and Trezor Suite will organize them for you.
With everything set up, you can now easily send, receive, and track your cryptocurrency from your Trezor. Every time you make a transaction, you’ll be able to confirm details directly on your device’s screen for added security.
Update Regularly: Keep your firmware up to date for the latest security.
Back up your Recovery Seed: You might want to store it in a safe place or even multiple secure locations.
Stay Safe Online: Only use Trezor Suite from the official website. Be cautious of phishing attempts and emails asking for your seed phrase.
